The Villa
Villa Surgawi means the �Heavenly Villa�.
Cemagi is a traditional Balinese village situated on the West coast some 12km north of Seminyak. It is distinguished by a remarkable temple perched upon a rocky outcrop in the Indian ocean. The drive to the villa is through traditional Balinese villages where you can meet the locals and watch them going about their daily routines.

Villa Surgawi with it�s rice paddy and ocean views is only 75 meters from the unique beach and temple setting at Cemagi. The views here are amazing and when the tide is on the retreat it is possible to walk along the beach up to the Meridien Hotel, which is home to the famous 18 hole Nirwana championship Golf Course.

A 20 minutes drive south will take you to the Canggu Club and a few minutes further on the restaurants & nightlife of downtown Seminyak. Built on three levels, the colonial-Carribean style 5 bedroom home offers ocean views from all levels. It is less than two minutes walk down the private lane to the beach and temple. Large verandahs allow for a good flow of air around the villa, fed by an endless sea breeze. The villa offers plenty of comfortable outdoor living, yet all rooms are air-conditioned enabling guests to retreat in comfort during the humid rainy season, usually between January & April.

The entrance to Villa Surgawi is via the parking area, through a huge pivot doorway and onto a timber bridge where a water feature greets you. Once over the ornamental pond you find yourself in a large tropical garden, home to many varieties of palms, heloconias and colourful plants like the ginger plants and mango tree.

A fully equipped western style kitchen complete with most modern conveniences including, microwave grill, stove top, kettle, coffee machine, juicer, mixer, etc. Also included in the rental fee is a great cook, experienced in both Asian and western cuisine, you simply supply the ingredients and she will prepare and serve your menus and even clean up afterwards. All you need do is enjoy yourselves.

Add to this the attentive household staff, plus your very own Car and Driver and the recipe for a perfect holiday is almost complete. The final elements are its proximity to major tourist attractions: far enough to give an unmistakable sense of privacy yet close enough to access conveniently at your leisure.

The lower lounge is home to the kitchen and dining area which has a large table with eight high-backed chairs, offering garden and pool views, a perfect setting for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

There are also a choice of outdoor dining areas in the garden, which allow you the luxury of choosing where you wish to enjoy your food. A barbeque evening on the garden terrace or poolside with Balinese dancers and Gamelan band is a particular favorite of many of our clients and a cultural experience that should not be overlooked during your stay. Villa Surgawi is blessed with a peaceful atmosphere, a place where you can relax, read, meditate, or simply stretch out and let your mind wander. When the feeling is right we have even been known to arrange a wedding ceremony or blessing at the villa.

Our friendly staff and driver can arrange travel plans for you on the island, including trips into Kuta, Seminyak or short tours and beyond for shopping, golfing, ceremonies. On call massage and spa therapists can also be arranged to visit the villa to provide a variety of spa treatments. Ground Floor
The ground floor consists of two spacious double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. One of these has its� own en suite bathroom and the second shares the bathroom with the adjoining twin room. A guest powder room and a living room are located further around the verandah.

The large dining area opens out onto the verandah, ideal for both indoor and outdoor entertaining. This is complimented by a Bose home stereo system which is piped to all open areas of the villa and controlled remotely making it possible to listen to music poolside but not on the terraces or lounge or any combination.

The high spec show kitchen is designed with a combination of white duco painted and glazed cabinets, tempered glass spashbacks, granite work benches and appliances including oven, stove, extractor hood, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. A separate pantry/storage area adjoins the kitchen. A staff door leads directly to the back of the property allowing staff to enter the kitchen with the minimum of intrusion. This is where our cooks will prepare mouthwatering meals for you and your friends.

All rooms are connected by the wide airy terrace verandah dotted with potted palms. You will also discover several planter chairs with drinks tables for you to relax on, a great place for early morning tea or coffee.

First Floor
The first floor is home to a spacious air-conditioned media room with distractingly stunning views to the rear over rice fields and volcanoes in the distance � and with sunset views over ocean at the front.

The fourth & fifth master suites are located on this floor and both have large walk in wardrobes. The massive master bedroom suite encompasses a 44m2 bedroom, a large air-conditioned bathroom with separate toilet, double basins, bathtub and spacious shower. Both upstairs master bedrooms have bathtubs are set under the windows so you can lift the roman blinds and enjoy the rice paddy views.

The large verandahs have unpolished terrazzo flooring with an andesit stone border and white painted timber balustrades. Both ground and first levels have slatted sun shades to keep the rooms cool but they also serve to finish off the colonial style of the property. The main area of the upstairs verandah is 6 meters deep. This is THE spot for lounging. Three large deep back antique benches bordering a large coffee table on three sides provide plenlty of seating and have endless ocean views. The orientation of Villa Surgawi is north/south � thus minimising the heat from the sun whilst maximising the views.

Garden & Pool
Villa Surgawi has a huge garden, a great place for the kids to run around within sight of slumbering adults. The 18 meter pool is one depth throughout, there is no shallow end for children, however as long as adult supervision and proper flotation devices are used for young swimmers the whole family will enjoy being here. For those who can already swim then the pool is the place where most guests tend to gravitate to and spend their days relaxing either in the Bale or surrounds.

The villa was completed in July 2008 so many of the palms & plants have not yet fully matured, however they do provide a surprising amount of shade enabling you to sit out in certain parts of the garden during the hottest part of the day with some degree of protection.

There is also the option of sitting on the sun deck on one of the four sun beds or if you prefer a more sheltered hideaway then sanctuary can be found on the large day bed under the Bale (a large outdoor resting pavilion with no walls). The Bale is equipped with its own set of Bose speakers and a dedicated remote control. There is a dining table and chairs in the Bale, and it is the perfect place to enjoy any meal or just gather with your friends for a few drinks and a game.

Beside the Bale is an open shower where you can freshen up before meals or after a relaxing stroll along the beach.

Roof Terrace and Facilities
There is a 60m2 roof terrace on the second floor. This is accessed via a stainless steel spiral staircase. From this upper most level you will enjoy the most incredible 180 degree views � from Uluwatu in the south of Bali, all the way up the West coast past the Meridien Hotel. This is THE perfect spot for enjoying Sunset Cocktails! Netting can be provided to block access to the stairs upon request.

Next to the main house is a large double garage that has been converted into a billiards/pool room, complete with bar. At the rear of this are the staff quarters (two large rooms and a bathroom), staff kitchen, laundry, store room and genset room. The staff have their own entrance and separate parking area for their motorbikes at the rear so all public spaces are kept clear and guests undisturbed.

The property is built to very high international standards, with some state of the art facilities including Bose server technology with built-in speakers connected to all common areas, broadband internet, Satellite TV and all bedrooms are connected via a PABX telephone system.

In addition the villa has a shared private tennis court for early morning or late afternoon workouts and a pool table.
